Materials Lab strategic plan

Mission

To provide geotechnical engineering, quality control, and assurance expertise to ensure that roads and other public facilities are designed and constructed in an economical manner, meeting current quality standards.

This is accomplished by providing geotechnical engineering and quality control and assurance that supports design and construction; specifying, sampling, testing, and certifying construction materials; providing pavement designs for roadway projects; completing geotechnical investigations to delineate soil types and groundwater conditions for the design of landslide repairs, retaining walls, rockeries, bridge foundations, signal poles, and retention /detention facilities; and seismic design and remediation for project sites.
