Holiday schedule for transit service

Metro Transit bus routes will operate on a Sunday schedule both Sunday and Monday - Dec. 25 and 26 - for the Christmas holiday.

The schedule for the New Year’s holidays is similar. All bus routes will be on a Sunday schedule on Jan. 1 and 2.

However, on the two holiday Mondays some Metro routes have added trips as noted by the letter "H" on the weekday schedule. Bus Route 99, the Waterfront Streetcar Line, will not operate on either Dec. 25 or on Jan. 1.

All Metro customer service offices, including Rider Information, will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2. For complete Metro holiday information, visit Metro Online.

This year’s event ran from Dec. 1-16, and included a challenge match between the shop employees and KCIA administrative staff. The shop won, by collecting more than 400 individual grocery items.

Overall, airport staff and tenants gathered more than 1,500 lbs. of food, plus cash donations, to benefit the food bank.
