Here is a list of King County Department of Transportation projects that may disrupt traffic and travel in the coming weeks:

June 16, 2008

Southwest 112th Street – King County Road Services Division will be making repairs to Southwest 112th Street in the White Center area next week. The road will be closed from Wednesday, June 25 at 6 a.m. through Thursday, July 3 at 4:30 p.m. between 16th Avenue Southwest and 17th Avenue Southwest.

38th Avenue South – Crews will be working near Lake Dolloff in South King County, and will close 38th Avenue South between South 304th Street and South 305th Place until 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3. The work involves moving underground utilities and replacing parts of the drainage system. Motorists can detour via South 304th Street, 51st Avenue South, and South 321st Street.

Kanasket-Kangley Road – Crews will be replacing failing culvert underneath Kanasket-Kangley Road east of Black Diamond that will result in a road closure near the intersection with Courtney Road Southeast until 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 24. Motorists can detour via Retreat-Kanasket Road and Kent-Kangley Road. A second closure, north of Kanasket Estates Road, begins Wednesday, June 25 at 7 a.m.

162nd Avenue Northeast – Traffic will be limited to one direction at a time on 162nd Avenue Northeast in the 13800 block north of Redmond until Wednesday, June 18 while crews replace a failing culvert underneath the roadway. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and obey the directions of flaggers.

Hake Road – Hake Road Southwest on Maury Island will be closed in the 27600 block through Friday, June 20. Winter storms of the past two years have caused significant damage to the roadway in this location. The King County Road Services Division will be rebuilding the sub-surface of the road, repaving the surface, and rebuilding the shoulder. During the repairs, no through traffic will be allowed.

North Fork Road Southeast – Wagners Bridge, which carries North Fork Road Southeast over the North Fork of the Snoqualmie River about 10 miles northeast of North Bend, is closed for construction. The road is a popular access point to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness for hikers and recreationalists. While the bridge is closed, motorists can purchase a vehicle access permit into the backcountry, or access the Alpine Lakes area on Forest Service roads from the north and east.

Weather-related road closures can be found online.
