It is the job of the jurors to decide what the facts of the case are.
From all the evidence presented, what evidence was "credible" (who did
they believe and who did they think was lying?) and does the evidence
prove you did something that was against law? All 12 jurors must agree
that you did it or you go free. |

The jury decides that the prosecutor's evidence was not "proof beyond a reasonable doubt." The verdict is "NOT GUILTY" and you're free to go! |

| The jury tries and tries but can't agree on whether the evidence proves you did it. This is called a "hung jury" and the judge declares a mistrial. The prosecutor can decide to got to trial again with a different jury, or to dismiss the charges and forget about it. | |

| All 12 jurors agree that it has been proved "beyond a reasonable doubt" that you did what they said you did. The verdict is "GUILTY" and you will get some punishment for breaking the law. | |
