Welcome to the King County Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) web site. I hope that you find the information here helpful and informative. As the Superior Court Clerk’s Office, DJA performs a variety of duties and provides many services for the Court, litigants, and the public. Our office has three locations: the King County Courthouse in downtown Seattle, the Regional Justice Center in Kent, and the Juvenile Justice Facility on Seattle’s First Hill. You will find the same policies in place and a helpful staff to serve you at each location. DJA is a well-established institution of government known for the stability, predictability, and reliability of its policies, procedures, and records. DJA is also an innovative, forward-looking agency using technology to help perform tasks better, more efficiently, and reliably. Our major technological initiative, the Electronic Court Records (ECR) program, is bringing improvements in file and document security and ease of access to records. Electronic storage virtually eliminates lost documents and misfiles. More than one person at a time is able to examine an electronically imaged document or file. Electronic filing is coming soon, whereby litigants will be able to submit documents for the case file over a secure connection via the Internet. We are excited about these innovations to bring improved service. We are proud of our staff who, with dedication and professionalism, serve the people of King County every day in all aspects of the Clerk’s work. Sincerely, Barbara Miner, Director, Department of Judicial Administration, and Superior Court Clerk
