![]() License Records - Change of Name/Address Address Change Insuring that all vehicle license records reflect their most current address is the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Address changes should be submitted by mail to the Department of Licensing, PO Box 9909, Olympia, WA 98504. Your must include the plate number to each vehicle registered in your name. When licensing your vehicle with a renewal form from the Department of Licensing, be sure to make any address changes necessary in the space provided on the form. Name Change If your name has been changed by court action, the vehicle title and registration must be changed to reflect your new name. You, as the owner, must bring in the title, current registration, if available, and proper identification. If your name was changed by court order, a certified copy of the court order authorizing the change must be presented. If you change your name without obtaining a court order, such as by marriage or divorce, the title, registration, and proper identification must be submitted to any vehicle license subagency or at the downtown Seattle office. In addition, and at the time you will be required to complete an affidavit of change of name. The cost of this transaction is $9.00, licensing fees if applicable, plus minimal service fee if processed at a license subagency. Click here for a list of subagencies.
