March 5, 2001 The first post-earthquake Metropolitan King County Council meeting will happen Monday, March 5th, 2001 at 1:30PM in the 10th floor council chambers of the King County Courthouse. The primary order of business is for councilmembers to receive a thorough update on the state of county structures, facilities and services. Expert structural engineers will present a full look at how county structures handled the quake, any deficiencies and the impact the quake has had on public services. Engineers will give a detailed report of their findings after assessing the structural integrity of the Courthouse and the Administration Building. Councilmembers expect to hear status reports from county departments. The council’s briefing will be broadcast live in its entirety on CTV and several times throughout the week. County employees and those with business in county buildings are encouraged to watch the briefing. – End – |
