WORK LOCATION: Link Light Rail Operations & Maintenance Facility located on Airport Way (across from Tully’s roasting plant).

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is overtime eligible and shifts may include day, swing and night. The workweek and scheduled hours may vary.  This position has on-call responsibilities and must respond to emergency situations as needed.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: The Rail Operations Section will be responsible for providing rail service on a 13.9 mile track from the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel to a station bordering Tukwila and SeaTac. This position will perform maintenance on railway signal and communications equipment such as CCTV cameras and monitors switch machines, vital relays, micropocessor controlled interlocking programmable controllers, fiber optic links, programmable multiplexers servers, stand-alone computers, power supplies and associated communications equipments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:  Two-years experience with signal systems.  Washington State Driver’s License, Class B CDL with endorsements and forklift and confined space certifications

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather.  Work in high places from mechanical lifts and structures and in high voltage environment to perform inspections.  Position requires minimal physical skill and effort beyond the use of everyday office equipment and supplies and may require stooping or bending motions when inspecting work.

SELECTION PROCESS: Applications will be screened to determine whether candidates meet minimum qualifications.  Candidates presenting evidence that they meet or exceed the qualifications noted above may be invited to participate in a series of interviews and a written exercise. Employment offers will be finalized only after candidates have successfully completed required physical examinations and pre-employment drug screens. Reference checks and reviews of driving records will also be conducted prior to any final offer of employment.
