WORK LOCATION: King Street Center, Downtown Seattle, 201 S. Jackson Street

WORK SCHEDULE: The workweek is normally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not overtime eligible.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: This position prepares electrical engineering drawings for transit facilities including wiring, lighting and control systems, overhead trolley systems, SCADA Systems, outdoor lighting systems and other electrical drawings as the projects require.  Primary job duties may include any of the following:

• Prepare graphic layouts of electrical designs for transit facilities using AutoCAD.
• Perform field investigations to develop as-built drawings and master facility drawings.
• Review consultant designs for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist field inspectors with the review and approval of shop drawings and with the interpretation of specifications.
• Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel as requested.
• Maintain and update engineering records and files including electronic data management systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An associate of science degree or two years of college in electrical design or a related field.
• Five years of experience as an electrical designer. 
• Proficient and knowledgeable in CADD systems.
• Experience directing other designers.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid Washington State driver's license.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Five years of experience using AutoCAD. 
• Additional computer skills.
