WORK LOCATION: King Street Center Building, 201 South Jackson, Seattle, WA.
WORK SCHEDULE: This represented position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not eligible for overtime pay. The work week is typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday however alternative work schedules will be considered.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
This position coordinates financial and business analyses, plans, policies, or other projects in the Vehicle Maintenance Section and. reports to the Vehicle Maintenance Manager and the Business Systems Supervisor. The position will prepare or be responsible for various aspects of budgets and financial analysis and reporting; program analysis, review and reporting to identify business efficiencies and cost effectiveness; and Operating Base financial and administrative reviews. Some typical responsibilities include:
- Produce monthly/quarterly program or budget reports and monitor financial and business operating indicators.
- Assess and analyze work flow related to business practices with an emphasis on improving efficiencies and reducing costs. Make recommendations to management related to process improvement and provide support to teams for implementing the recommendations.
- Prepare reports or papers summarizing analysis or research related to special and ongoing projects and budgets.
- Develop, revise and maintain business practices, policies and procedures to improve operations through consistency and efficiencies and to ensure responsible budget and financial practices.
- Provide purchasing coordination and account reconciliation.
- Participate in coordination of the pick and shake-up process to ensure appropriate staffing levels at the various bases and a smooth and efficient transition from one shake-up to the next..
- Perform analysis and documentation of business and functional requirements with the goals of identifying viability and minimizing expenses.
- Oversee the monitoring, tracking and reporting of project/program or account status and make recommendations in support of established organizational goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- An associate's degree in business administration or a closely related field and three years experience, OR a bachelor's degree and one year experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience with accounts payable and reconciliation.
- Three years of experience with basic administrative practices and project coordination.
- Experience developing and preparing documentation for new and existing projects or programs and budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a wide range of individuals, both internal and external to King County
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
- Working knowledge and experience with the following tools: Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel) and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge and experience with IBIS, Business Objects, Peoplesoft, and Oracle
- Valid Washington State Driver's License, or the ability to travel around the county in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of, or experience with, transportation and/or transit operations and systems is strongly desired
