WORK LOCATION: This position is located at the King County Courthouse in Seattle, WA; the incumbent may be required to work at other King County Superior Court locations.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position working a 35-hour work week. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of operational activities supporting Family Court Operations, including scheduling court dates, determining case priority and ensuring cases are complete and ready for trial. This position interacts with judicial officers, clients and lawyers. Primary job functions include, but are not limited to:
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); and four years experience in court procedures and processes; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and follow instruction. Knowledge of English grammar and spelling. Ability to work with diverse populations and/or emotional situations with cultural sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters. Able to analyze, organize and prioritize work; adapt to changes in work load demands; multi-task and follow through. Able to use personal computer and Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of and ability to learn specialized software applications.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Finalists must pass a criminal background check and reference check. Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license or be able to travel throughout the County by alternate means.
