WORK LOCATION: Time will be split between the Yesler Building (5th and Yesler Way) and the Exchange Building (2nd and Marion St.), Seattle, WA.

WORK SCHEDULE: This represented position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not eligible for overtime pay. The work week is typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday however alternative work schedules will be considered.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: This position will be instrumental in formulating the strategic direction for Paratransit/Rideshare Operations (PRO), a 1700 vehicle, $60 million dollar per year program.  It provides leadership, guidance, research, and communications on cross-agency and statewide projects and programs that impact customer service, internal staff productivity, vanpool and paratransit program operations, scheduling of paratransit routes, ridematching and incentive program management, fleet maintenance and future procurements. This position will also act as liaison between PRO and information technology departments.

  1. Lead in the development of the section’s long-term and short-term plans by conducting needs assessments, clarifying objectives and goals, and defining projects and programs. This may require performing feasibility and business process analysis, researching and recommending appropriate technology, developing project/program definitions that support section goals, seeking alternative funding sources, and contributing to section budget development.                         
  2. Lead section projects and programs, especially those that are cross-agency and statewide by: developing project scopes, budgets and timelines; allocating resources and managing project teams; serving as business content expert; leading and/or performing requirements gathering and analysis; developing RFPs and vendor contracts, driving resolution of project issues; managing vendor relations, and acting as a liaison with other agencies.
  3. Perform business process improvement, data analysis, data warehouse design and reporting by: developing business processes that maximize effectiveness of staff and leverage existing software solutions; ensuring a high degree of data quality by eliminating redundant data entry and maintaining consistency across multiple application databases; providing guidance and audit reporting to business units acting as data stewards; meeting information security and privacy goals; designing and developing complex reports using SQL-based tools; designing data marts and/or a data warehouse that gives management the ability to analyze, slice-dice and drill-down into data across multiple section and transit databases.      
  4. Serve as staff lead, recommend hires, assign work, establish performance objectives, determine staff training needs, counsel employees regarding professional development, direct employees regarding policies and procedures, and resolve conflicts.     
  5. Support section manager by coordinating/leading special projects in response to countywide and statewide initiatives, requiring research and analysis, and documentation of section responses by consolidating input from multiple sources.
