WORK LOCATIONS: King County Courthouse in downtown Seattle and the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, WA.
WORK SCHEDULE AND TERMS: This at-will position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not overtime eligible. The workweek is normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The incumbent in this position will receive the County’s full benefit package.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Superior Court, and is responsible for managing, planning and directing the operations for Superior Court Operations Department at multiple locations.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in judicial, business, public administration or a related field is preferred; plus a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience and five (5) years’ experience in a responsible mid-management position in the public or private sector. Prior court experience is preferred. Experience in negotiations, mediation, labor relations and working in a political environment. Experience in policy development, systems designs, program analysis, directing and monitoring programs/projects is required. Knowledge of court rules, regulations and court system including roles, responsibilities and relationship of all participants.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Finalists must successfully pass a criminal background check and reference check. Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license or be able to travel throughout the County by alternate means.
