SELECTION PROCESS: Applicants will be screened for qualifications, clarity and completeness of application materials. WORK SCHEDULE: This full-time position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not overtime eligible. The work schedule is 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday. Weekend, holiday and evening work, including attendance of evening meetings, will be required from time to time. Flexible working hours and/or days may be arranged.

PRIMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is located in the River and Floodplain Management Unit within the Water and Land Resources Division and will oversee and implement a wide range of lead budget, finance, and accounting functions and provide high level capital program budget and finance support in support newly formed King County Flood Control Zone District. Responsibilities include managing and performing sophisticated and complex financial, accounting, cost and activity-based-accounting, grant project accounting, and program expenditure and revenue analysis, assessments and evaluations. This position serves as the primary source of expertise for issues related to capital finance and budget for the King County Flood Control Zone District’s capital improvement program. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to health and safety hazards. Heavy workloads, deadline pressure and interruptions due to changing priorities are not uncommon.
