FORMS AND MATERIALS REQUIRED: A King County safety sensitive job application form and a letter of interest detailing your background and describing how you meet or exceed the requirements are required.

WORK LOCATION: Power Distribution 2255 4th Ave South, Seattle, WA.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.  Employees in this classification must be available to work one of three shifts, staffed seven days a week.  Shift picks occur once a year.  Management reserves the right to assign any shift in order to meet the needs of the work unit.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: Perform journey-level work in the construction and maintenance of the trolley overhead and underground systems.  Electrical systems (750 volts DC) are energized during construction and maintenance activities.  May lead others within the same trade, material workers and helpers, on a temporary basis for specific projects.

QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a line worker apprenticeship and two years of experience as a journey level line worker are required.  Additional qualifications are as follows:

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed outside in all weather conditions in an elevated position and requires exposure to traffic and high voltage wires.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Required to climb poles and work from elevated equipment.  The worker is frequently required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds in an elevated position.

SELECTION PROCESS: Those applicants meeting minimum qualifications will be contacted for an interview.  Once an offer of employment has been made, beginning work will be contingent on passing all requirements outlined for safety sensitive positions, which includes a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
