Parks Overview

King County Parks are places we go to spend time with our families, slow down, and feel the grass beneath our feet. The over 180 sites in our system include regional wildland hiking trails through quiet, tall trees, large open meadows for picnics and events, multi-use parks with ballfields, a regional aquatic center, the King County Fairgrounds, pools, rural and neighborhood parks, and much more.

If you are interested in active sports fields for soccer, baseball, rugby or cricket, outdoor adventure recreation including camping, hiking, and mountain biking, historic venues for wedding or corporate events, or the most heavily used off leash area in the state, our active parks have something for you.

The King County Parks system also operates 25,000 acres of natural, passive parks to help maintain our regions environmental legacy for generations to come. These are places to explore wildlife, and witness the abundant breathtaking beauty of our natural heritage through interpretive programs and miles of hiking trails.
