General Business Rules

July 18 - 20, 2008

 
OFFICIAL HOURS the Fair will be open to the public:
July 18-19   (Fri-Sat)    10am - 8pm
July 20         (Sun)         10am - 6pm
 
ADMISSION PRICES:  FREE
PARKING:  FREE 
 
CAMPING:  Commercial  $28.00 per unit per night or $168.00 for one week (6 or 7 days).  Spaces can be reserved in the RV Campground on a first come/first served basis by calling 206-296-8888 or 800-325-6165, ext. 68888.  Payment by credit card is required when phoning in reservation; checks are okay if mailing before June 1, 2008.  All units have dedicated water and electric hookups.   ****Every unit camping  MUST have a working fire extinguisher****
 
SUPPLY VEHICLE PARKING:  $50.00 with Electric hookup, $35.00 without hookup.  Exhibitor and concessionaires only.  Space is limited.  Reserve supply vehicle parking on the Vendor Request Form.  Any vehicles without the proper pass will be towed.
 
NSF CHECKS:  There will be a $25.00 charge on all returned or NSF checks.
 
SECURITY will be provided on a 24-hour basis beginning Wednesday evening (July 16) at 8:00 pm and continues until 8:00 am Monday, (July 21).  Although every precaution will be exercised, the Fair is not responsible for lost/damaged property.
 
ALCOHOL consumption is regulated by King County Ordinance and is not allowed at any time.
 
FIRST AID will be centrally located on the grounds.  All injuries occurring on the King County Fair by workers, exhibitors, or the public should be reported immediately to the First Aid Personnel, Fair Office.
 
EMERGENCY PROCEDURE:  To report any emergency, contact any Fair employee or Security immediately.  Specify the location and type of emergency.  In case of fire, extinguishers are located throughout the Enumclaw Expo Center for use until assistance arrives.
 
COMPLIANCE:  If a person or organization chooses to exhibit and/or participate at the King County Fair, that person agrees to abide by the General Business Rules and all other Fair agreements and permits.  If there is any question regarding the interpretation of any King County Fair rule or regulation, the King County Fair Management’s decision will be final.
 
REFUNDS:  The customer may cancel a reservation with 3 days fromthe date of beginning the reservation process without being assessed a cancellation fee and the patron will be refunded 100% of their rental fee.  For booth space cancelled 90 days or more in advance, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the rental fee will be assessed.  For booths cancelled 89 days or less in advance, a cacellation fee equal to 100% of the rental fee will be assessed.
 
SET-UP:  All exhibitors/concessionaires MUST check in with the Fair Office before setting up.  All outside booth locations must be confirmed by fair personnel prior to set up.  The Fair Office will be open from 8:0 am until 8:00 pm Wednesday and Thursday (July 16 & 17) for the purpose of installing booths, displays, etc.   Early set-up is allowed by permission from Fair management.  All booths must be in place by 9:00 am, Friday, July 18th.
 
PASSES:  All exhibitor booths and concessions must have admission and parking passes.  Upon receipt of the Vendor Request Form, the King County Fair will provide passes for each exhibitor/concessionaire and their employees.  Exhibitor/concessionaire vendor passes must be picked up from the Fair office before close of business on 8pm on Wednesday, July 16th.  Please distribute your passes prior to set up.
 
STAFFING:  All booths must be staffed and open to the public by Fair opening times each day.  If not, a warning will be issued at the first infraction.  Further infractions may warrant cause for a fine of $50.00 or removal of booth/concession, at the discretion of management.
 
VEHICLES ON GROUNDS: Vehicles will be allowed on the fair grounds to unload through Gate #3 (Main Gate) July 17-20, between 6:00 AM and 8:45 AM ONLY.  Vehicles remaining on the grounds after 9:00 AM will be towed at the owner’s expense.  Please unload quickly and move vehicle off the grounds as soon as possible.  If any exhibitor/concessionaire fails or refuses to abide by these rules, the King County Fair Manager reserves the right to terminate the contract and take possession thereof.  Any moneys theretofore paid by the exhibitor/concessionaire will be retained by the King County Fair.
 
SUNDAY CLOSING:  The official closing time on Sunday is 6:00 PM.  No one is allowed to begin preparations to vacate booth until that time and no vehicles will be allowed on the grounds until Fair Manager or designee determines that it is safe to do so. 
 
VENDOR LIABILITY INSURANCE is required.  A sample of the certificate and endorsement form is included with your packet.  Exhibitors/Concessionaires must provide the Fair Office with a copy of the insurance specified in the contract by June 1, 2008.   We cannot make last minute accommodations for you to purchase insurance.  Be sure to read through your packet carefully so that you do not miss deadlines.  A $5 per day late fee may be assessed.
 
EXHIBITORS/CONCESSIONAIRES shall be responsible for maintaining their booths in good order.  Inside exhibitors are asked to sweep out their booths nightly into the aisles after the closure of the exhibit buildings to the public.  Outside exhibitors/concessionaires shall be responsible for maintaining cleanliness outside their booths and for cleaning any adjoining tables.
 
NOTE:   NOTHING CAN BE OVERHANGING, PROTRUDING INTO, OR CROSSING THE ROADWAYS.
 
FIRE CODE REGULATIONS:  The King County Fire Marshall is available for any specific questions and will also be on site during the Fair for inspections.  They may be reached at 206-296-6675.  Specific important information is included in your Agreement.
 
DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS: No exhibitor or concessionaire may give away or sell any item, which have not been listed or specified in the Permit.  To do so, violates our agreement and may be cause for cancellation.  The King County Fair is a family event and will not allow any objectionable material as determined by Fair Management.  Submit copies of all give away materials to Fair management for approval.
 
SOUND DEVICES: No sound devices (record players, tape recorders, etc.) shall be allowed, unless they are an integral part of the item(s) on sale.  All exhibitors desiring to use PA systems or other noise-making devices must request approval of Fair Management.  Those exhibitors with approved sound devices may have their privilege revoked if the noise level becomes too loud.  Fair management determines when the level becomes too loud.  Use of strobe lights is prohibited.
 
BANKING:  There will be no on-site bank.  All exhibitors and concessionaires will be responsible for their own banking.  Local banks are listed below.
 
SIGNAGE:  Due to the change in focus all exhibitors and concessionaires should clearly advertise products or services as environmentally friendly, organic/green products, health and wellness, or agricultural in the signage at your space.
