King County's Federal Way Pool to reopen November 9, 2000
The King County Park System will reopen its Federal Way swimming pool on Monday, November 13. Federal Way Pool, located next to Federal Way High School, has been closed since August 21 for major repairs.
Repairs at Federal Way Pool included a new pool lining, a new roof, new interior doors, a new hot water heater for the showers, a more efficient, automated chemical control system, and better lighting around the pool deck. The total investment in the pool was $360,000.
Federal Way Pool will hold a reopening celebration on Saturday, December 1 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, with all pool activities free to the public.
Federal Way Pool features public swims, family swims, adult lap swims and swimming lessons. Federal Way Pool had about 100,000 customers last year. For more detailed information about the pool schedule, please call the pool directly at 253-839-1000.
Federal Way Pool is part of the King County Pool System, which includes 13 indoor pools, two outdoor pools, and the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. King County provides about 400,000 swimming lessons each year in this pool system.
