King County’s “Fundamentals of Pruning” workshop
kicks off the fall gardening season
As the weather becomes colder and the summer winds down, King County is offering a free workshop to showcase the proper techniques of pruning that every Northwest gardener should be aware of. Find out how to properly prune now so you will have a more beautiful and healthy garden once spring rolls around.
King County Park is offering a FREE three hour workshop on the Fundamentals of Pruning on Monday, September 26, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Clise Mansion at Marymoor Park. County horticulturist Terry Brady will be on hand to teach participants when to prune, why pruning is necessary and how pruning affects your plants and trees.
Bring your own gloves and try out different tools and techniques. The workshop will be half classroom lecture and half hands on demonstration. Everyone is welcome but please pre-register with Lynn Tuomisto at 206-205-5854 or lynn.tuomisto@metrokc.gov.
The Clise Mansion is located at King County’s Marymoor Park at 6046 W. Lake Sammamish Parkway, NE, Redmond.
A special thank you to the USDA Forest Service - Urban and Community Forestry Program, Washington Department of Natural Resources and the King County Water and Land Resources Division for providing funding for this program.
