King County names Robin Friedman director of the Office of Emergency Management
Mr. Robin Friedman has been selected to lead King County's emergency management, planning and preparedness activities as the Director of the Office of Emergency Management, effective April 7. Most recently employed with Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) as Director of Security and Emergency Management, Robin has been active in a wide variety of emergency management efforts, both locally and nationally. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Friedman served sixteen years in the United States Army before honorably retiring in 1996. He is excited to be on board with OEM and looks forward to working with county agencies and regional partners to improve countywide emergency management capabilities.
