We know everyone has good intentions and wants to help right now. In an effort to best serve the victims and help the responding agencies in the affected hurricane areas, please do not self-deploy or automatically go to the hurricane area. One of the best ways for people and organizations to help is to donate funds to disaster relief efforts. We encourage you to make donations or volunteer through established agencies listed below.
This limited activation of the ECC is meant to position our region to be better able to respond to specific disaster needs. Businesses or organizations that would like to donate goods, services and skilled personnel should contact the Washington State Military Department - Emergency Management Division Katrina Hotline at 1-800-941-2930.
People should not bring any goods to any King County collection point until directed to do so. This will be based on specific requests identified by jurisdictions in the impacted disaster areas.
