King County is requesting Proposals from qualified firms to provide architectural and engineering services for the King County International Airport (KCIA) Sound Insulation Program.
The County is seeking a consultant team to perform the sound insulation design services described in this RFP and would like to receive proposals from all interested teams. No preference or advantage will be given to firms that have previously performed similar services for King County as prime consultants or subconsultants. Proposers shall not include any experience in project examples, resumes or narrative that involves previous or current work related to the KCIA Sound Insulation Program.
The Request for Proposals, all addenda and current document holder’s list are available on the internet at www.metrokc.gov/procurement/rfp_rfq_itb/new_consu.aspx. The County will not mail, ship or fax RFPs and addenda.
Interested firms must register with the County at time of download and ensure that a valid contact email address is given. Notification of addenda will be sent to the registered email address. Failure to register will result in the proposer not being notified of any addenda, which may result in rejection of the proposal.
The estimated value of Phase I of this contract is $3.2M. The total estimated value of all potential phases over approximately a twelve year duration is $20M. The County plans to issue one contract.

SUMMARY OF WORK: This work is funded in part by the Federal Aviation Administration, and applicable federal requirements apply. The work consists of design services for sound insulation retrofit of qualified residences affected by noise from the King County International Airport (KCIA). Approximately 1300 residences are eligible for sound insulation under this program. Phase I comprises 200 homes.
SUBCONSULTANT OPPORTUNITIES: Provided for informational purposes only, following are subconsulting opportunities that may be available on this Contract: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, acoustical engineering, and hazardous materials abatement.
