Equal Benefits to Employees With Domestic Partners

King County’s Equal Benefits (EB) Ordinance 14823 states that to be eligible for award of contracts estimated to cost $25,000.00 or more, firms must not discriminate in the provisions of employee benefits between employees with spouses, and employees with domestic partners. The successful Contractor shall be required to complete a Worksheet and Declaration form. Compliance with Ordinance 14823 is a mandatory condition for execution of a contract.

The public rules create an implementation plan designed to provide clear guidance to entities seeking to comply with the law.
