For specific coinsurance and copays for the covered expenses described in this section, see "KingCareSM Benefits at a Glance."
It's possible that some medical treatments may not be covered under KingCareSM. To make decisions about the health care you receive, you should know which treatments are covered and which are not. Ultimately, the claims administrator will be responsible for informing you if a medical service or supply isn't covered. The following provides guidelines of what is considered a "covered expense" and an "uncovered expense."
IMPORTANT
There is no preexisting condition limit for medical or prescription drug services. However, there is a waiting period for transplants. (For more information, see "Transplants.")
If you end employment with King County, refer to "Certificate of Coverage" for information on how your participation in KingCareSM can be credited against other plans with preexisting condition limits.
