Firearms Dealer Licenses
If you own a firearms business that is located in unincorporated King County or a city that contracts* with the King County Sheriff’s Office for police services, you may apply for your dealer’s license at:

You will need to bring your Federal Firearms License, State Business License, your picture ID and (if renewing), your current dealer’s license. A fee of $125.00 will need to be paid by check or money order (made payable to Washington State Treasurer).

If you are applying for your first dealer’s license, there is a 30-day wait before the license is issued.

Application hours are 8:30 am to 4 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. The application process takes about 60 minutes.

* Contract cities are Beaux Arts, Burien, Carnation, Covington, Kenmore, Maple Valley, Newcastle, North Bend, Sammamish, SeaTac, Shoreline, Skykomish, and Woodinville.
