Shoreline Master Program Designation Maps

Parcel Viewer map imageParcel Viewer

The Parcel Viewer helps you find a specific parcel of property, and very basic information about that parcel. You search by the property address, the parcel number, or a street intersection; or you can locate the property on the map.

Once you find the parcel identification number (PIN), or you find the parcel on the map and you select it, you can view several predefined reports concerning that parcel. These include:

  • The Assessor Property Characteristics Report
  • Permits by the Department of Development and Environmental Services (DDES)
  • The Districts and Development Conditions Report

The Districts and Development Conditions Report contains some environmental data about the parcel, such as whether any of it is designated as wetland, or whether it is within the 100-year floodplain.

King County iMap interactive maps provide a rich set of information, more than what is available through the Parcel Viewer. Pick the layer, "Shoreline Management Designation" from the list of layers and click refresh to view existing Shoreline Designations. View and query 1978 shoreline designations by making the "Shoreline Management Designation" layer "active", refreshing the map, then selecting the Arc IMS Query tool tool, and clicking on areas of interest.

This information is used by staff at the Department of Development and Environmental Services (DDES) to determine if development proposals are within shoreline areas, and if so, to identify the shoreline designation. Once determined, the appropriate shoreline development regulations can be applied to the proposal.
